Providing Natural Solutions for Male Sexual Health
There's not much we can count on in life, but if there's one guarantee, we can bet that our bodies change as we grow older. That's especially true for men as they age. One moment you're partying at the club, waking up refreshed, and hitting the gym. The next moment, getting out of bed is a chore. You're sore in places you never thought before, and hangovers don't just go away after a hot shower and a big breakfast.
And while sore joints and backaches can be treated with aspirin and ice, other signs of aging aren't as easy to treat. Of course, we're talking about challenges in getting and maintaining erections needed to satisfy your partner. At the extreme, we all know it as erectile dysfunction or ED for short but long before full ED, there are warning signs that things aren't working as they used to work. Hearing the ED word sends shivers down most men's spines. When you think about it, that makes sense - being unable to perform when you need to most is a scary thought.
If you're beginning to suffer from ED or male performance issues or you've been dealing with performance issues for some time, it may seem like nobody has any solutions or even really understands how these issues can impact your life and sense of well-being. However, ED of varying degrees is very common. More than 18 million men suffer from the condition in the U.S. Unfortunately, many of those men hide their performance issues without ever addressing them. If you're one of those men, and it feels like you're stuck in a rut with no help, we're here to tell you you're not alone. Proactive Wellness Centers, PLC is here to provide you with a long-lasting solution to help you regain confidence and perform like you used to.
Additionally, many men including the so-called "bio hackers" are using our treatments to PREVENT the performance decline in the first place. Why wait for the inevitable when you can implement strategies to prevent the decline in the first place.

The Proactive Wellness Center Difference
Our programs are all about reversing and slowing the aging process, preventing disease, and treating chronically ill patients. We utilize a three-pronged approach:
- 1. We equip patients with the knowledge required to take charge of their health and achieve optimal well-being.
- 2. We focus on disease prevention by providing a thorough evaluation using comprehensive diagnostics including the patient-supplied information.
- 3. We work with patients to implement a rejuvenation program consisting of various science-based treatments that reduce cellular degeneration, promote tissue regeneration and healing, and slow down the aging process.
We consider every individual as physiologically unique. As such, we don't subscribe to a "one-size-fits-all" approach. Instead, our programs focus on a customized approach, leveraging genetics and advanced testing, utilizing advanced therapeutics like Gainswave and addressing risk factors that, if avoided or modified, could have beneficial effects for reducing many chronic conditions that men suffer from year-round.
Our vision is to provide the latest in scientifically-validated therapies for reversing the aging process, preventing chronic disease, and optimizing health. For men whoare just starting to have challenges, or who have erectile dysfunction, or for the biohackers that just want everything optimized, one of those proven therapies is GAINSWave therapy in Bethesda, MD

What is GAINSWave Therapy?
If you have ED or even a minor decline in sexual performance, there's a good chance you've already seen your primary care doctor. You've talked to them about the issues you're facing. And, if they're like many doctors, they prescribed you some pills and sent you on your way. Unfortunately, going this route doesn't do much to solve erectile dysfunction - you're just putting a band-aid on the problem. Plus, you're putting strange chemicals in your body via a "little blue pill" that may cause adverse side effects.
At the end of the day, you need a real-deal solution to ED, not a quick fix. The good news? A safe, non-invasive, injection-free answer to your problems exists. It's called GAINSWave therapy, and according to recent studies, it has shown an 85-92% success rate for mild to moderate cases of erectile dysfunction.
Reports from men who have used GAINSWave therapy in Bethesda, MD report the following benefits:
- Stronger, Longer Lasting Erections
- Improved Sexual Pleasure
- More Blood Circulation and Flow
- Better Girth and Length
- Less Rest Needed Between Orgasms
- Enhanced Intimacy in the Bedroom

Unlike many ED treatments, you don't have to worry about surgery or drugs when you choose GAINSWave. This revolutionary treatment uses acoustic wave technology, also called pulse wave therapy, instead of surgery or pills, which helps to rebuild blood flow to the penile region, thereby boostings erectile strength and, by proxy, confidence.
But the benefits of GAINSWave don't end there. This therapy also breaks up micro plaques and boosts nitric oxide, which forms new blood vessels and collagen. That's exciting news for men suffering from Peyronie's disease, which is another condition specific to male sexual health.

What Makes GAINSWave Therapy in Bethesda, MD Work?
With time, men's blood flow decreases, sensitivity isn't what it once was, and blood vessels start to get thinner or even partially or fully blocked. With GAINSWave, high-frequency, low-intensity shockwaves rejuvenate areas of the penis that have suffered with age. For instance, micro plaques are removed, new blood vessels form, and blood flow increases. According to several clinical studies, enhanced blood flow from GAINSWave translates to more sustainable, rigid erections in 75% of men.
Though males in America are only beginning to realize the benefits of GAINSWave, it's a treatment that has been used for over a decade around the world. Backed by science and proven to rejuvenate vasculature in male erections, GAINSWave works without any pain or recovery time. In fact, it's possible to pop into Proactive Wellness Centers on your lunch break for a therapy session.
Proactive Wellness Centers' GAINSWave treatments feature:
- Low-Intensity Pulse or Shockwaves
- All Natural
- No Needles
- No Pills
- No Pain
- No Surgery
- No Recovery Time
- Quick Procedures
Because this procedure is needle, surgery, and drug-free, most men don't have to suffer through costly insurance claims or unsightly scarring. With GAINSWave and our comprehensive and personalized ED treatment plans, all you need to focus on is enjoying life, knowing your erectile dysfunction is a thing of the past.
Who Are the Best Candidates for Gainswave Therapy in Bethesda, MD?
If you're a man over the age of 30 and want to optimize your performance or if you are suffering a decline in this area, GAINSWave may be for you. That's even more true if other treatments never worked. For many men, those unsuccessful solutions include pills like Viagra. If prescription pills don't solve your ED problems, GAINSWave is a great option to consider. Academic studies show that shockwave therapy is successful where PDE5 inhibitors (like Viagra or Cialis) fall short.
In fact, many urologists now consider shockwave therapy the greatest revolution in ED treatment in over a decade. Even men without erectile dysfunction use GAINSWave as a preventative therapy to keep their bedroom performance strong and avoid compromised blood vessels.
Some of the key benefits of GAINSWave procedures over other ED treatments include:
- No Drugs
- Backed by Clinical Studies and Extensive Medical Research
- Vast Record of Success
- FDA-Approved for Enhanced Sexual Wellness
- Available at Proactive Wellness Centers, PLC

Our vision is to provide the latest in scientifically-validated therapies, like GAINSWave therapy in Bethesda, MD, for reversing the aging process, preventing chronic disease, and optimizing health.
Some of the most requested services we offer include:

Low-T Treatment for Men
While not as widely discussed as menopause is for women, andropause is very real for men just as menopause is significant for women. Our Low-T program for men focuses on the unique needs of men who are suffering from andropause or low testosterone. The Program Testosterone replacement when clinically indicated, optimization of DHEA and Pregenenolone, combined with nutritional guidance, nutritional supplementation recommendations to optimize your health. For men where Testosterone has declined, the Low-T program is a necessary complement to the Gainswave therapy.
Depending on lab results and patient goals, the program may also include peptides to help patients optimize their health and body composition. If you can identify with some of the symptoms below, you are likely experiencing low testosterone / andropause and are a candidate for laboratory testing to determine if BHRT is right for you.
Symptoms may include:
- Fatigue
- Erectile dysfunction
- Decreased stamina
- Loss of physical agility
- Decreased mental sharpness
- Prostate problems
- Insomnia

Bioidentical Hormone Replacement Therapy for Women
Like men, women's bodies change as they grow older. Often referred to as menopause, this time in a woman's life can be stressful when the body uses energy differently, fat cells change, and hormones decline.
Many of the common symptoms and conditions associated with menopause are widely known and discussed, but there are many that are overlooked. At Proactive Wellness Centers, we've seen patients misdiagnosed with other illnesses that were actually caused by a decline in hormone levels. Our BHRT program for women focuses on the unique needs of women who are suffering from the common as well as the lesser-known symptoms of menopause.
Those symptoms may include:
- Hot Flashes
- Mood Swings
- Depression
- UTIs
- Irritability
- Anxiety
- Indigestion
- Osteoporosis
- Vertigo
- Anxiety Attacks
- Vaginal Dryness
- Fatigue

What are Bioidentical Hormones?
Bioidentical hormones are also known as natural hormones. They are substances with the same chemical makeup as the hormones produced in your body. Hormones are not drugs - they occur naturally and are found in every human on earth. BHRT replaces hormones at a physiologic level that is not harmful to the body.
If you're suffering through the symptoms of menopause, taking Midol isn't going to solve any problems. Fortunately, our BHRT program for women is designed to eliminate many menopausal symptoms. That way, we give women a chance to recapture their energy levels and vitality with drugs or surgery. Contact our office today to learn more about bioidentical hormone replacement therapy and how it can help you recapture the joys of your youth.
Bredesen-Protocol Strategies for Improving Brain Health
We believe that a healthy brain is paramount to overall well-being. Unfortunately, little is known about promoting brain health, lowering the risk of dementia, or stabilizing symptoms for patients experiencing early signs.
After much research, however, Dr. Lawson from Proactive Wellness Centers determined that the Bredesen protocol provides the best evidence-based approach to diagnosing and treating cognitive decline.
The approach, created by Dr. Dale Bredesen, is called ReCODE. This protocol involves multiple strategies to pinpoint specific health issues contributing to Alzheimer's Disease. The results of each strategy are measured using blood tests, dementia tests, cognitive evaluations, and other signs of overall health improvement. Now a Bredesen Certified doctor, Dr. Lawson now offers patients the full Bredesen ReCODE protocol to help them recover from debilitating illnesses like Alzheimer's.
Through this exciting approach, patients have shown dramatic improvements in cognitive function. In some cases, they achieve a reversal of symptoms and have even returned to work.
Proactive Wellness Centers' ReCODE program uses significant functional medicine experience and includes:
- Lifestyle Interventions
- Targeted Nutrients
- Therapeutic Diets
We're thrilled to add this promising Alzheimer's disease treatment for qualifying patients at Proactive Wellness Centers.

Chronic Disease Treatment
Long-term diseases like Lyme disease and Chronic Inflammatory Response Syndrome (CIRS) can ruin a person's life and often leave them afraid to leave the house. To make matters worse, these chronic diseases are often initially misdiagnosed, complicating treatment and leaving the patient depressed and hopeless. And while some medical prescriptions can help, many chronic disease sufferers live without finding true relief.
At Proactive Wellness Centers, our innovative doctors have developed a comprehensive treatment program to address chronic diseases like CIRS and Lyme disease. Generally, our Chronic Disease Treatment follows SSRP protocols as defined below:
- Stop the progression of the disease while strengthening the immune system
- Stabilize patients by balancing hormones and restoring energy
- Reverse cellular, mitochondrial, and other damages caused by chronic diseases, based on lab markers and/or symptomatic expression
- Prevent further development of the chronic disease processes
Our SSRP protocol provides patients with a promising program based largely on the emerging bodies of evidence in the chronic disease space. This evidence is supported by peer-reviewed medical journals, clinical studies, and even double-blind placebo-controlled studies.

When choosing chronic disease treatments for patients, our team of doctors and clinicians focus on safety and efficacy before anything else. Typical therapies associated with our chronic disease treatment programs include:
- IV Vitamin Therapy
- Targeted Nutritional Supplements
- Compassionate Care and Personalized Service from Qualified Doctors
As an integrative practice, we use conventional medications when indicated, especially in cases of underlying co-infections and other areas where traditional medication offers the best course of treatment.
If you're at your wit's end living with a chronic disease, call Proactive Wellness Centers today. Our innovative treatments and therapies may be the key you need to unlock a new, healthy life.

BETHESDA, MD — St. Patrick’s Day is on a Friday this year. Restaurants and bars around Bethesda will be swimming in Kelly green, and perhaps flashing red and blue lights if people don’t behave themselves.
And devout Catholics may have to consult their parish priest before they dig into a plate of corned beef and cabbage.
The Washington Regional Alcohol Program's 2023 St. Patrick’s SoberRide program is planned between 4 p.m. Friday, March 17 and 4 a.m. on Saturday, March 18. Because the holiday is considered a high-risk time for intoxicated driving, the program will offer a Lyft ride up to $15.

Devout Catholics abstain from eating meat on Fridays during Lent, a sacrifice that recognizes Jesus’ death on the cross on a Friday. Catholics in several suburban Chicago towns can eat the traditional fare without guilt, but the Diocese of Chicago is holding firm.
Whether revelers in cities like heavily Catholic Chicago, one of the most St. Patrick-y cities in the country, go all in with the holiday staple corned beef and cabbage could come down to whether they get special dispensation from the diocese.
Catholic revelers from Silver Spring will be happy to learn that Cardinal Wilton Gregory, the archbishop of Washington, has granted Catholics in The Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Washington, which includes Montgomery County, dispensation from the abstinence from meat on March 17 this year. This extends to any Catholics who are in the diocese during St. Patrick's Day.
"It is not required that anyone make use of this dispensation. Those who do wish to make use of it are encouraged to abstain from meat on some other day as part of their penitential practices during Lent," according to Gregory's decree.

BETHESDA, Md. — Several people were rescued and one person was taken to an area hospital following a Bethesda apartment fire Friday afternoon.
According to a spokesperson from Montgomery County Fire and Rescue, the fire was reported just before 4:30 p.m. in the 10300 block of Westlake Drive near Arizona Circle.
When crews arrived they found heavy smoke coming from the second floor of the apartment building.
Montgomery County Fire and Rescue says the building does not appear to have sprinklers.
Several residents were rescued from a balcony and were let down with a ladder.
At least one person was taken to an area hospital for help, while others are being examined at the building due to smoke exposure.
The fire has since been brought under control.
Investigators claim the fire started because of a stovetop cooking mishap on the second floor of the apartment building. They say clothing ignited catching other combustible items in the room on fire.
The apartment building is directly across the street from Montgomery Mall.
Westlake Drive is closed between Westlake Terrace and Democracy Boulevard as crews work the scene.

Authorities say the fire caused an estimated $300,000 in damages.

The dense, suburban office market is drawing demand from small and midsized companies with employees who live outside of D.C. and don't want to commute downtown, experts said. And Downtown Bethesda has no new office space under construction today, limiting the competition for developers trying to lease up space.

A prime location, stylish apartment homes, and a maintenance-free lifestyle aren't the only appeal of The Grandview, an Erickson Senior Living community planned for Bethesda, Md.
The community will also provide a wide range of amenities and activities on site for residents to enjoy. The vertical design of The Grandview--a first for Erickson--positions these amenities throughout the buildings, which will also encompass beautiful apartment homes.
Erickson Senior Living's commitment to health and well-being, embodied by an array of classes at the community's fitness center and access to personal fitness trainers on staff, will make it easy for residents to maintain their active lifestyles.
Top quality fitness amenities
"We will have a wonderful fitness center with top-of-the-line equipment, two private studios for personal training and classes, and a beautiful, two-lane Olympic-size pool that's perfect for laps and aqua aerobics," says George Mishraky, sales director at The Grandview.
Interested in local real estate?Subscribe to Patch's new newsletter to be the first to know about open houses, new listings and more.
Residents also will gain access to Wellbeats, a fitness app that stores on-demand and live exercise, yoga, and meditation classes, as part of the inclusive and affordable monthly service package.
"The on-site urban park will have exercise equipment and walking paths. Residents can also play bocce outdoors. Pickleball, an increasingly popular sport at Erickson Senior Living communities, will be indoors in the Life Enrichment Center," says Mishraky.
He adds that residents will help tailor future exercise programs--chair aerobics, balance classes, or golf outings, for example--based on their input and feedback.
"We're meeting with people before they move in to discuss what their hobbies are, so we can facilitate clubs based on their individual interests--anything from travel and computers to current events and books," notes Mishraky.
For game enthusiasts, expect get-togethers for activities like mah-jongg, dominoes, bridge, poker, chess, and more. Groups for pet owners, gardeners, genealogy enthusiasts, artists, line dancers, and--a regional favorite--those interested in government affairs are sure to grow. Special luncheons, happy hours, and movie nights will encourage quality time with friends and neighbors. Worship services will also be available each week in the Life Enrichment Center.
Trips and more
There are plans to facilitate daytrips, too, such as attending cultural events at the nearby Music Center at Strathmore.
"Residents will determine what trips they want to take," says Mishraky. "Once a group meets and identifies a particular performance they want to go to, we will help arrange transportation and purchasing of the tickets."
The community will offer innovative, made-from-scratch cuisine, as well as themed dinners for holidays and cultural events.
Multiple restaurants, serving more casual, grab-and-go style options; cafés; grilles; and high-end dining will provide endless opportunities. Look forward to a wine bar, which will feature beautiful views of the campus. Outdoor terraces, rooftop decks, and other outdoor dining spaces will be available for gathering with friends too.

Where to Eat and Drink in Bethesda

Over a short period of time, Bethesda has shed its dull dining reputation and quickly become an exciting hotspot to eat and drink. Bethesda’s cityscape also looks a lot different these days, thanks to the relocation of Marriott’s headquarters and booming developments up the I-355 corridor like Pike & Rose. The term “North Bethesda” is now a thing (and the new name for the White Flint Metro station).
The Montgomery County growth spurt leaves diners with plenty of options, including newer favorites like Melina, Oishii Ramen, and Seventh State, as well as neighborhood fixtures like Tastee Diner, Quartermaine, Bethesda Bagels, and Vace.
Reliable D.C. names like Chaia, Chercher, Chiko, Call Your Mother, and Butter Me Up, as well as NYC imports Tacombi and Maman Bakery, have all planted flags here as of late. More is on the horizon, with incoming Maryland outposts from Andy’s Pizza, The Salt Line, and Aventino.
Here are some of the must-try restaurants in Bethesda.

North Bethesda’s Pike & Rose has gone to the dogs thanks to the wildly popular Bark Social. This is a bark park with bar fare and local brews like Silver Spring’s Denizens, Astro Lab, and Waredaca Brewing Company.
Melina is named after the daughter of Cava and Julii co-founder and chef Dimitri Moshovitis. On the menu find salads, meze, skewers, and fresh crudo. A top-selling dish is the tuna tataki with beet greens, avocado, tarama, carob, and olive oil rusks.
For a ridiculous selection of Maryland beers and a reliable weekend brunch, head to this Pike & Rose pioneer from Neighborhood Restaurant Group. There are more than 50 rotating taps and 200-plus bottles including 75 Maryland beers, many of which have never been available at a restaurant or bar before. The six-year-old pub will soon carve out room for a new location of Caruso’s Grocery, Matt Adler’s essential Italian-American restaurant that opened in NRG’s Roost food hall on Capitol Hill last year.
Founded by mother-daughter team Sarah and Annie Park, this small batch scoops shops maintains a pair of locations in Bethesda. Find vegan-friendly and rotating seasonal flavors at each one.
This family-owned Bethesda mainstay, around since 2002, is the epitome of an old-school red sauce joint. Neighbors know it well for the homemade pastas and hearty dishes like lasagna bolognese and linguine with sausage and peppers, plus meatballs like nonna makes. There is also a second location in downtown Silver Spring.
This Cuban eatery and rum bar has two locations in Bethesda and Silver Spring. Of course, the top dish to order is the Cubano sandwich, served in a traditional style with roast pork, ham, Swiss cheese, mustard, and thinly-sliced pickles.
This super stylish ramen shop opened in 2021, bringing Bethesda Japanese snacks like gyoza, karaage, and kakuni buns. Hearty bowls of ramen range from spicy tonkotsu to miso to shoyu styles.
Bethesda residents line up here on weekends for a classic diner in the heart of downtown. Around since 1935, the beloved local chain offers breakfast combos like steak-and-eggs and flapjacks, plus club sandwiches and milkshakes for lunch or dinner.
This all-day eatery specializes in Chesapeake Bay seafood, including oysters on the half-shell that are steeply discounted at happy hour. Also spot them on the late-night menu, offered Thursday through Saturday, for $2.25 each.
Marriott International recently relocated its corporate headquarters in downtown Bethesda, and adjacent to the office sits a brand new hotel with striking food and views. The lobby-level restaurant Seventh State — a subtle nod to Maryland’s founding — has tribute dishes like Chesapeake rockfish, crab-and-artichoke dip, and Smith Island Cake. On the roof, find Hip Flask — a swanky cocktail bar with epic views of both Maryland and Virginia.
Q stands for Qijian, which means “flagship” in Chinese. It’s here where legendary chef Peter Chang sends out dim sum on weekends and large-format dishes like Peking duck prepared through a five-step process.
Superstar chef José Andrés revamped what was formerly Jaleo into a Spanish-style diner serving all-day breakfast menus full of fried egg dishes, sandwiches, stews, and plenty of savory jamon iberico.
Credit goes to this shop for upping the area’s bagel credibility. The brand has since expanded across state lines to D.C. and Virginia, but the Bethesda original remains largely unchanged. Find dozens of bagel varieties with lox, cream cheese spreads, or as savory sandwiches.
Neighbors gather here for freshly roasted coffees and espressos. It also has a sizable pastry counter and beans to brew at home.
This acclaimed French bakery is tucked away in a corner of Bethesda that’s better known for car dealerships and a Giant grocery store. Follow the smell of freshly-baked bread for baguettes, croissants, and Viennese pastries made on-site and at a larger production facility in nearby Rockville. A McLean location opens this week.
A slice is nice at Vace, an Italian pizzeria and deli with an extensive amount of homemade pastas. An attached grocer sells imported specialty items to cook at home.
Get cracking on Chesapeake Bay crabs at this seafood standby that opened in 1961. Steamed crabs by the platter come complete with Old Bay seasoning and brown paper-covered tables. Call in advance to make sure it is open and to reserve orders.

MARYLAND — A coalition of midsize banks across the country, whose members include a couple in Maryland, has asked federal regulators to fully insure all deposits for the next two years, Bloomberg reported.
In their letter, seen by Bloomberg, the Mid-Size Bank Coalition of America said guaranteeing FDIC insurance on all deposits will help stabilize the banking system and restore confidence in it to avoid further bank runs.
Deposits at FDIC-insured banks are covered up to $250,000.
Member banks in Maryland include:
The MBCA letter came after the collapse earlier this month of Silicon Valley Bank and Signature Bank. A third bank, First Republic, got a $30 billion bailout from 11 of America’s largest banks last week after a week of turmoil in the U.S. banking sector.

Coalition banks have assets averaging $20 billion, but as large as $100 billion. There are about 110 member banks found in all 50 states and Washington, D.C., as well as three U.S. territories. Each coalition bank employs an average of 2,500 people, according to the MBCA website.
Extending the guarantee “will immediately halt the exodus of deposits from smaller banks, stabilize the banking sector and greatly reduce chances of more bank failures,” according to the letter sent to Treasury Secretary Janet Yellen, the Federal Deposit Insurance Corp., the Comptroller of Currency and the Federal Reserve Board.
Since the bank failures, customers of regional banks have been moving their money to larger banks seen as too big to fail. The banking group is worried about a chain reaction and more flight by depositors should another bank fail.
“Notwithstanding the overall health and safety of the banking industry, confidence has been eroded in all but the largest banks,” the group said in the letter. “Confidence in our banking system as a whole must be immediately restored.”
The bank group proposes that banks pay for the expanded insurance program by increasing the FDIC assessment on banks that want the increased coverage.
U.S. regulators have tried to calm fears over threats to banking systems. The Federal Reserve said cash-short banks had borrowed about $300 billion in the week up to Thursday.
Separately, New York Community Bank agreed to buy part of failed Signature Bank in a $2.7 billion deal, the FDIC said Sunday. The FDIC said $60 billion in Signature Bank’s loans will remain in receivership and are expected to be sold off in time.
Traders expect last week’s turmoil to lead the Fed to limit a rate hike at this week's meeting to 0.25 percentage points. That would be the same as the previous increase and half the margin traders expected earlier.
A survey released Friday by the University of Michigan showed inflation expectations among American consumers are falling. That matters to the Fed, which has said such expectations can feed into virtuous and vicious cycles.

Amazon has committed $24 million to fund 122 new affordable homes as part of Strathmore Square, a multiphase development on a Washington Metropolitan Area Transit Authority ground lease near the Grosvenor-Strathmore Metro Station in Bethesda, Md.
This new development, by Fivesquares Development and Aimco, will consist of a 1.2-acre public park, an expansion of the Strathmore Music Center, and new mixed-income housing, including a 220-unit building that broke ground this week.

“We are confident that it will be a national model of TOD (transit-oriented development) centered on arts, culture, open space and sustainable living — a community with a soul that will be brought to life by our partnership with adjacent Strathmore Music Center,” Andy Altman, principal and co-founder of Fivesquares Development, said at a groundbreaking for the project Thursday.
Thanks to Amazon’s funding, the developers will soon start the construction of two new high-rise buildings with 574 units, 122 being for those making 50 to 70 percent of area median income, which is currently $172,873 for a household of four.
“Strathmore Square brings this community a much-needed resource — transit-oriented affordable housing,” Catherine Buell, director of the Amazon Housing Equity Fund, said. “The partnership between the Amazon Housing Equity Fund, WMATA, The Strathmore and Fivesquares Development will also serve as a model for how to bring more transit-oriented, affordable housing to our communities for years to come. We’re grateful to be a part of this collaboration.”
This is just the latest investment as part of the Amazon Housing Equity Fund’s $2 billion commitment to create and preserve 20,000 affordable homes. In the D.C. Metro area alone, the fund has committed more than $990 million to help create or preserve more than 6,200 affordable homes. (The e-commerce giant is building its second headquarters in Northern Virginia.)
“This is not the first transit-oriented, affordable housing project Amazon has supported, and it certainly won’t be our last,” Buell said.
